Terms and Conditions
Terms & Conditions of Locker Rental (“Ts&Cs”) – these terms govern the relationship between you (the locker renter / user) and us (Keep Safe Lockers Ltd)
We are Keep Safe Lockers Ltd – a company registered in England with company number 15236900. Our website is located at www.keepsafelockers.com We own lockers located in your school and we are renting access to one of our lockers to you for a school year. These Ts&Cs explain your and our rights and obligations and you and we agree to be bound by them.
If you have any questions now or during your rental period, you should refer to the FAQs section of our website in the first instance. If you have any remaining questions or which to contact us regarding anything related to your locker, our contact details are provided on our website.
Our lockers are often rented by parents or guardians of children for use by them. If this applies to you, you agree to make the user of the locker aware of these Ts&Cs and you hereby agree that the user accepts and agrees these Ts&Cs and that you are responsible for the user’s compliance with them:
- Please DO NOT pay to rent a locker until your place at the school is confirmed. If a locker is rented before a place at the school is confirmed, no refund will be made.
- Before purchasing a locker rental, please ensure no-one else is renting a locker for you such as another parent, or the pupil themselves. We do not make refunds for double bookings.
- You will be allocated a locker in the location selected by you (or based on your school’s preferred location). That will be your locker for the school year. If you wish to change your locker we will try to accommodate your request but we may be unable to do so. To ask to change your locker you agree to follow the locker change protocol explained in the FAQ section of our website.
- The rental period is from the date you pay to rent the locker until the end of the current school year
- If you choose to pay by instalments in accordance with the options at checkout when you purchase the locker rental, you agree to make all payments due. If you do not pay any of the instalments when they fall due the locker will immediately be re-allocated to another user and you will no longer have an access code to use the locker.
- If you decide not to use your locker or are unable to use your locker, no refund will be provided other than in exceptional circumstances that we will consider on a case-by-case basis
- If your locker becomes unavailable, for example due to mechanical failure, or relocation of lockers, we may provide you with an alternative locker in a location that is acceptable to the school.
- You are renting the right to use the locker to store equipment related to your attendance at the school. We remain the owner of the lockers at all times.
- Access to your locker will be available at times and on days determined by the school.
- Your locker is for your sole use and may not be shared with other pupils and use is not transferable to another pupil.
- Your locker rental cannot be transferred to another school. If you move schools during a rental period to another school where we provide lockers, you will need to reserve a new locker through our website, subject to availability.
- You may not store any items in lockers that are unrelated to your attendance at the school. For example you must not store any illegal items in the locker, or any dangerous chemicals, weapons, controlled substances such as drugs, cigarettes or alcohol or any other items that the school’s guidelines prohibit.
- You agree not to store food, drink or similar perishable items in your locker overnight.
- You agree to leave your locker at the end of your rental period in the same state that you found it at the start of your rental period – empty, clean, in working order, not defaced with stickers or writing or similar.
- You agree not to deface your locker or other lockers with pens, paint, stickers or similar and you agree not to physically damage the lockers by kicking or hitting lockers. If lockers are defaced or damaged and must be replaced, the rental price of lockers will increase to pay for that damage.
- If you discover any damage or defacement to your locker you agree to report it immediately to school staff and to report it to us using the protocol shown in the FAQs on our website.
- School staff cannot open lockers as a result of a forgotten combination code – if you forget your code, you can obtain it by logging in to the booking portal.
- If your code becomes compromised and you need to change it we can do that remotely – please follow the protocol for changing the combination lock code on the FAQs shown on our website. Reasonable numbers of changes will be undertaken free of charge, but we reserve the right to charge for excessive code change requests.
- You agree that school staff or the police or similar agency may open your locker if they have a reasonable belief that a security or safety issue has arisen or if they reasonably believe unacceptable items are being stored in your locker.
- If lockers are not emptied at the end of the school year you agree that school staff may empty them and deal with the contents as lost property in accordance with the school’s policy on lost property
- If you have a maintenance issue relating to your locker such as the combination code not working or the door being broken, you agree to follow the maintenance reporting protocol shown in the FAQ section of our website.
- If the battery warning light on the lock on your locker starts to flash, you agree to report it to us without delay using the protocol shown in the FAQs on our website. We will arrange to replace the batteries. If you do not do this, you may be unable to access your locker.
- Do not share your combination code with anyone – we are not responsible for any loss, damage or theft of items stored in your locker
- The school is responsible for security within the school and access to the locker locations which we are unable to monitor. The lockers and locks we provide are regularly used in schools and are suitable for school use but security of your locker cannot be guaranteed in the event of malicious access attempts. You therefore accept that unauthorised access to your locker as a result of malicious damage or vandalism is possible and theft of locker contents may result. You agree to accept this risk and understand you are responsible for insuring the contents of your locker should you choose to store items of value. If you cannot afford to lose something of value from your locker, do not store it in your locker.
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Ts&Cs to a third party (this may happen for example if our ownership changes) who will remain bound by our Ts&Cs. In such an event, your rights and obligations will be unaffected.
